There are a lot of young teens that live in a group home and you would never even know it. They feel embarrassed to tell anyone, they feel like they might not be accepted because they live in a group home, or they feel people might have a lot of sorrow for them and feel bad for them. Me personally, I live in a group home and I don't care if anyone knows. People can judge me all they wont but they will never know what I've been through to get into the system. Sometimes I lay in my bed and think: I am not a regular teenager anymore. I have a label: A WARD OF THE STATE. But then I look on the bright side and be like: I'd rather be a ward of the state then be living in an abusive home and get beat for no reason. I am actually glad that I live in a group home because I escaped the pain. I feel like if you don't tell people you stay in a group home and you just lie to everyone I think you're basically living your life as a lie.
Even though it's just a temporary placement. :)
