Do relationship really work when you put your true feelings aside? By: Gloria

I read a book called "Why men love b*tches?" and the first section called What men think about how women communicate was really interesting. I couldn't believe the fact that women and men hide their true feelings to build a relationship that they believe was worth it. But was it? Was hiding how men feel about chick flicks good or bad? Or was hiding the woman's true feelings about how men work too much good or bad? Honestly, I think that a relationship should be built on honesty, trust, respect, and mainly love. I feel that when you're in a relationship you should be able to tell each other the honest truth about how you feel about something. I mean, it is a good thing that both the woman and the man can sometimes put their pride aside and sit down and watch a chick flick together or work on a car together without having a problem. Then again you can always learn something new from each other even when you don't feel like it.
So, to me, I truly do not believe that a relationship can work if you cannot even sit down and talk to each other. Always remember communication is key. So if you start off in a lie you will end up in a lie. Therefore, I cannot say you will have the best relationship in the world but I can say you will be happier. I know from experience. Even though I am only 18 years old I have fallen in love with a man that was the total opposite of everything I was looking for but hey, we've been together for a year, through the thick and the thin and boy have we been through a lot. Yes, we went through that stage of lying and hiding but eventually at the same time we learned from the plenty of mistakes we have had. Which had caused us to be more open and was able to communicate with each other about everything and can I say it has helped us a lot more and there aren't as many "big" arguments or disagreements. So I have personally learned from experience. Do not get yourself into something that you cannot see yourself being with in the future. So be wise and take a chance and talk to each other. Many times it's worth it. Mine was. :)
